What We Do
We have developed an expertise in Supporting People and Housing related services including significant amounts of work on Homelessness. This has ranged from strategic work such as Supporting People needs analysis through to the very practical work of staff training in support planning and recording.
We have successfully tackled a broad range of projects in the last 11 years including:
- Evaluations and research; from single services and projects through to whole service systems, we have carried out a wide range of research from work on the impact of the recession on vulnerable adults through to peer lead research on youth homelessness.
- Return on investment; we can offer support with Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis and other methods for judging the potential return on investment, we have done significant amounts of work on the benefits of homelessness prevention.
- Training; we have now completed Outcome Star™ training with 10 different organizations using the homelessness star, recovery star and older persons star. We offer training to support workers and others on support planning and key working. We offer training to commissioners and others on the use of outcome based commissioning and performance management.
- Commissioning; we can offer strategic and practical help to commissioners who want to make the shift to outcome-based approaches. We are currently working with commissioners on linking outcomes to payment by results.
- Needs analysis; we can offer help with a range of needs analysis tasks from Supporting People needs analysis through to individual service needs.
- Strategic support; we can offer support with reviewing and developing strategy, for example Homelessness Strategies. We are able to develop straightforward and understandable strategies with clear actions and measures.
- Operational design; we can offer support with the design and re-design of services based on using outcomes as the start point. We have worked with a range of providers to help them design homelessness services, support services etc. We are comfortable involving service users and stakeholders in the design process.
- Consultations and involving service users; we can offer practical and strategic help with consultations and service user involvement. We have helped train over 50 peer researchers in the last 4 years.
